Terms of Service

Last updated: February 1, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the PaidBookClub platform ("Service"), operated by PaidBookClub, Inc. ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Account Creation and Eligibility

To use PaidBookClub as a reader, you must create an account and provide accurate, complete information. You must be at least 18 years old or the age of majority in your jurisdiction. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account.

3. Reader Obligations

As a reader on PaidBookClub, you agree to:

  • Read each assigned book in its entirety before submitting a report, unless otherwise specified in the assignment details.
  • Submit honest, original book reports that reflect your genuine reading experience. Reports must be written in your own words and may not be generated by artificial intelligence tools or copied from other sources.
  • Complete and submit reports within the deadline specified for each assignment. Failure to meet deadlines may result in forfeiture of payment for that assignment and may affect your eligibility for future assignments.
  • Maintain a reasonable standard of quality in all submissions, including proper grammar, coherent structure, and substantive commentary on the work.
  • Not share, redistribute, or reproduce the content of assigned books beyond what is necessary for completing your report.

4. Honest Review Requirement

PaidBookClub is built on the foundation of honest, unbiased reader feedback. You are never required to provide a positive review or favorable rating. Authors who use PaidBookClub understand that feedback may include criticism. Any attempt by an author, another user, or any third party to influence or coerce your opinion should be reported to us immediately. Readers who submit dishonest, fabricated, or misleading reports may have their accounts terminated and outstanding payments forfeited.

5. Payment Terms

Payments are processed through Stripe Connect. To receive payments, you must complete the Stripe Connect onboarding process, which includes identity verification and providing banking information. Payment amounts are displayed on each assignment before you claim it. Payments are issued after your book report is reviewed and approved. Processing times may vary, but payments are typically deposited within 3-5 business days of approval. We reserve the right to withhold payment for reports that do not meet our quality standards or violate these Terms. All payments are in United States Dollars (USD) unless otherwise stated.

6. Assignment Limits

PaidBookClub may limit the number of active assignments a reader may hold at any given time. These limits are based on your account history, completion rate, and report quality. New readers may have lower assignment limits that increase as they demonstrate reliability. We reserve the right to adjust these limits at our discretion. Claiming an assignment constitutes a commitment to complete it within the specified deadline.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Create multiple accounts or use another person's account without authorization.
  • Submit reports for books you have not actually read, or submit plagiarized, AI-generated, or recycled content.
  • Engage in any form of fraud, including manipulating the system to claim assignments you do not intend to complete.
  • Harass, threaten, or communicate inappropriately with authors or other users of the platform.
  • Attempt to contact authors directly outside of the platform for the purpose of soliciting additional payment or benefits.
  • Use the Service to distribute malware, spam, or any other harmful content.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service.
  • Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation in connection with your use of the Service.

8. Intellectual Property

The books provided through PaidBookClub are the intellectual property of their respective authors. You are granted a limited, non-transferable license to read assigned books solely for the purpose of completing your assignment. Your book reports are your original work; however, by submitting a report through PaidBookClub, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to share the report with the relevant author and to use anonymized excerpts for platform improvement and marketing purposes.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Grounds for termination include, but are not limited to: violation of these Terms, repeated failure to meet assignment deadlines, submission of low-quality or dishonest reports, fraudulent activity, or any conduct that we determine to be harmful to the platform or its community. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Any pending payments for approved reports submitted prior to termination will still be processed, but payments for unapproved or in-progress assignments will be forfeited.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PaidBookClub and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid to you through the platform in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

11. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. The arbitration shall take place in New York, New York. You agree to waive any right to a jury trial or to participate in a class action lawsuit.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action or proceeding not subject to arbitration shall be brought exclusively in the federal or state courts located in New York County, New York.
